Alabaster & Blue Lotus

The Alabaster & Blue Lotus Collection comprises a range of extremely delicate and feminine bracelets inspired by the Egyptian New Kingdom alabaster cosmetic vessels’ shapes, and the sophisticated fashion of inhaling the joyful fragrance of the blue lotus flower by ancient Egyptian aristocrats. The 18k slim, yellow gold chains subtly string mother-of-pearl cut vessel silhouettes, which are outlined either by an elongated beading border or by a diamond border, alternating with an 18k yellow gold lotus flower, its petals coloured in blue enamel. Alabaster, as a precious material, was favoured for its milky, translucent texture and its softness when being styled to favourable shapes in ancient Egypt and Near Eastern regions. Cosmetic vessels, delicate in size and made of alabaster, occasionally served for dedicatory and offering purposes by Egyptian nobles and were utilised by Egyptian royals. Their close association with the fashion of inhalation and admiring the blue lotus have been frequently depicted on Egyptian tomb paintings. There are a few alabaster and blue faience ancient Egyptian kohl vessels styled into lotiform shapes, which is from where the aesthetic concept of introducing blue enamelled lotus flowers among the mother-of-pearl imitated alabaster vessels stems. Miniature pendants of the same vessel silhouettes, echoing the main stone, are designed to naturally hang from your wrist, adding a further touch of detail and sophistication to the overall design.
