Story about our founder and designer Miss Hui Di Li
Having a passion for ancient Mediterranean civilisations and antiquities, Hui Di Li completed her first MA in Classical Mediterranean Archaeology, at the University of Sheffield. Driven by a great interest in further exploring the cultural contacts among Etruscan, Assyrian, and Anatolian civilisations, she studied her second MA in Archaeology and Heritage of Egypt and the Middle East, at University College London (UCL). After her graduation, she has been working as an antiquities specialists. Her outstanding, sensitive aesthetic flair for creativity together with her extensive knowledge of ancient art, underpin her talent and ability in re-styling antiquities and archaeological cultures via her jewellery designs.
“Every book page I turn, every delicate, attractive and intriguing object I handle and research, so the stronger my feeling becomes, that the beauties and uniqueness naturally flowing from antiquities and ancient arts shouldn’t only be accepted, acknowledged and admired by a small group of people. That’s why, I’ve tried to thoroughly deconstruct the stereotyped concepts of jewellery, to carefully select adaptable yet meaningful objects, so that their captivating silhouettes can be expressed via metal strands, to enliven their irreplaceable colour of thousands of years whilst closely imitating the hues and tones of different precious gems. In the process of transforming in-depth, exclusive knowledge into ornamental details, I’ve sought to echo the beauty that lies in antiquities via artistic designs. In doing so, I hope I’ve infused all Antiquarian’s designs with a unique, composed and sublime soul.”
